He has frequently toured in the States and Europe with his own bands, and has recorded for television, film and radio both in the USA and the Netherlands. He has a.o. played with musicians such as: Warne Marsh, Barry Harris, Peck Morrison, Sonny Dallas, Michael Moore and Albert Heath. Next to Line Up he can be heard on a duo recording "Psalm" with Sal Mosca (Zinnia Record 1998) , with Liquidjazz (Mystic/Eclipse 1999) , a trio CD with Don Messina and Bill Chattin entitled Cycle Logical (Cadence 2003) and a trio release with Dominic Duval and Jay Rosen (CIMP 2004). Jimmy has also taught at private universities as associate professor. He studied with Lennie Tristano and Sal Mosca and plays in a very personal style associated with Warne Marsh.

Drums. Steve Altenberg, born 1935 (Holland)

Steve has toured throughout North America, Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and the Middle East. He now spends both time in Europe and in New York, where he has worked with among others, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Chris Potter, Darrell Grant. In 1993, Altenberg arrived in Amsterdam where he established himself on the jazz scene working with some of Holland's finest musicians. In 1997, VIA Records signed Steve as an exclusive recording artist and his first release, "Dig Deep" marked his emergence as a leader. The recording received critical acclaim and remained in the jazz chart top ten for six months. In the fall of 1999, Via released Altenberg's follow-up CD, Impressions Of Summer, which features, Dale Barlow on alto saxophone. Steve received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from St. Mary's College of Maryland and continued his studies in Bosten, at Berklee College of Music.

Håkon Storm Mathisen:  guitar, born 1967 (Norway)

He has performed in a diverse range of styles from Rock through Free jazz and is one of the most respected guitar players in Norway. Håkon is an active composer. The last few years his long list of compositions written for Big Band has become astonishing. The corporation with Thomas Winther Andersen and Torgrim Sollid goes back to the early eighties and contributes a lot to the musical concept of Line Up. Since 1992 Håkon teaches ensemble, rhythmic training, theory, ear training, and guitar at The Norwegian State Academy of Music. Håkon studied at Rhythmic conservatory in Copenhagen, from which he graduated in 1991

Torgrim Sollid: Trumpet, born 1942 (Norway)

Torgrim is a profile composer and arranger and leads a contemporary jazz units SØYR since 1976. With this 10 piece band he has made several recordings, toured in Europe and performed on television and radio. The latest CD Home Alone, was released in February 2001 on the Norwegian label "Curling Legs ". Torgrim has worked with musicians such as Jan Garbarek, Karin Krog and Warne Marsh, with whom he also made two recordings, Warne Marsh in Norway and For the time being . Currently Torgrim is a associate professor in Jazz at The Norwegian State Academy of Music
