The joy of jazz is the spontaneous performance including improvisation and that musicians play together without being prepared as a band. Jazz is an oral tradition where playing by ear, connecting over song, groove and form is the framework for a spontaneous performance. Amsterdam had before the pandemic many pubs hosting a jazz session weekly.  One vibrant session for more than ten years was the Monday nights at Nel (Amstelveld).
This stream concert, provided by Goethe-Institut from the heart of Amsterdam, tunes in on the spirit of the jam session and the musician community that keeps that alive and warm for a post pandemic world of live music.
On this night the rhythm section with invite some special guests to bring a tune or request to play.
This concert is as close as you get to the jam session without having to leave home.
The event will be hosted by MARGO VAN DE LINDE, performing artist, spoken word artist, host, DAS graduate and the band long-time collaborator.
